Bulldogs Acquire Mason
(Blackfalds, AB) The Blackfalds Bulldogs have acquired 2005-born forward Ty Mason from the Weyburn Red Wings of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) in exchange for 2003-born defenceman Tyler Teasdale and 2004-born forward Ty Russell.
Russell was acquired from the Princeton Posse of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) earlier this summer as one of the key pieces to this trade.
The Bulldogs thank Tyler Teasdale for his contributions to the team on and off the ice and wish him and Ty Russell all the best in Weyburn.
Mason scored 57 points (25 goals, 32 assists) in 56 regular season games for Weyburn in his sophomore season. He posted 5 goals (2 goals, 3 assists) in 5 playoff games for the Red Wings. Mason already has a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 1 commitment to Western Michigan University, where Jayden Joly and Otto Hanson also have commitments.
Bulldogs Director of Hockey Operations, Al Parada, stated, “We’re excited to get Ty. He is going to come in and add a scoring punch to our powerplay and skill to our existing forward group. He is a high-end player with a high hockey IQ.”
Mason commented, “It’s an honour to be sought after by a first-class organization such as the Blackfalds Bulldogs. They are committed to winning and building a championship tradition and culture.”
The Bulldogs would like to welcome Ty Mason and his family to the organization.
