Blackfalds Bulldogs signed forward Leon Bjelkelov Brunn

Blackfalds Bulldogs are excited to announce that they have signed 06 Forward Leon Bjelkelov Brunn for the 2026-27 season.

Bjelkelov Brunn, who turns 20 in August, comes to Blackfalds from Sundbyberg, Sweden, where he played for Djurgardens in the U20 Nationell League in Sweden last season. He was a big part of their Championship team that won the U20 Nationell league last year. Leon who stands 6’1″ tall and weighs 187lbs., played in 35 regular season games for Djurgardens last season where he had 7 Goals and 14 Assists for a total of 21 points. He also accumulated 2 Goals and 3 Assists in 14 games in their Championship playoff run.

Bulldogs Director of Player Personnel Al Parada can’t wait to see Bjelkelov Brunn in a Bulldogs jersey this season, “Leon was a very coveted player in our league, and we are extremely excited that he chose to come and play in Blackfalds this season. Leon has size, speed, and skill and will be a big addition to our forward group this season. He will also bring the experience of being a part of a Championship team the last two seasons in the U20 Nationell league, he will also bring leadership and the ability to be a game changer as a veteran players, and help us as a team to win games and have a successful season. I am looking forward to seeing Leon in a Bulldogs jersey when we open the BCHL season September 18th in Blackfalds vs Brooks.”

Bjelkelov Brunn is excited about coming to North America to join the Bulldogs next season, “I am really excited to join the Bulldogs next season. It feels like a great place for my development as both a player and a person, and I can’t wait to come over and get started.”
