Bulldogs Acquire Middendorf

(Blackfalds, AB) The Blackfalds Bulldogs have acquired 2004-born forward Gavin Middendorf from the Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) in exchange for 2004-born defenceman Alexey Trischuk and 2006-born forward Ty Gordon.

The Bulldogs would like to thank Alexey Trischuk and Ty Gordon for their contributions to the team both on and off the ice and wish them the best of luck in Drayton Valley.

Middendorf scored 39 points (25 goals, 14 assists) in 55 regular season games for Drayton Valley. He was named to the Viterra North Division AJHL All-Rookie team at the end of last season and was also one of the four finalists for the AJHL Rookie of the Year last season along with Layne Loomer. 

Bulldogs Director of Hockey Operations, Al Parada, stated, “We are excited to add Gavin to our lineup this coming season. He is a high-end player with elite skating ability and puck skills and will add scoring punch to our forward group. Along with his high skill, Gavin has a very high hockey IQ.”

Middendorf commented, “I am very excited to be joining the Bulldogs and looking forward to meeting all the new people and can’t wait to see what this season brings.”
