Bulldogs sign Bobby Corkery

The Blackfalds Bulldogs are pleased to announce the signing of 2004-born defenceman, Bobby Corkery, to a letter of intent for the 2023-2024 AJHL Season.

Corkery is a Providence, Rhode Island native who spent last season playing for Phillips Academy Andover (USHS-Prep) and the Cape Cod Whalers U18 AAA.

“I’m very excited to be joining the Blackfalds Bulldogs,” said Corkery. “I’m honoured to be a part of such a great organization. I was lucky enough to get out to Blackfalds to experience the facilities first hand and they are truly second to none.”

Blackfalds’ Director of Hockey Operations, Al Parada, says that Corkery has many excellent qualities as a player and a person that will make his transition to the Junior ‘A’ level seamless.

“Bobby is a big body and solid defender who leads by example on and off the ice…he was the Captain of his USHS Prep team this season,” said Parada. “He has a high hockey IQ with the physical tools to step in and be an effective player at the Junior A level next season.”

Corkery went on to add that beyond his excitement to join the Bulldogs, he’s excited to start his junior A career in the AJHL.

“The AJHL is a great league and I’m looking forward to developing on and off the ice. I can’t wait to get started in August,” said Corkery.

The entire Bulldogs organization would like to welcome Bobby and his family to Blackfalds!
