(G) Charlie Zolin Signs with the Bulldogs

(Blackfalds, Alta.)-  The Blackfalds Bulldogs are pleased to announce the signing of 2004-born goaltender, Charlie Zolin, out of Elite Academy 18U AAA.

Zolin (Greenwich, CT) played 14 games with AYHL 18U and ECEL 18U before appearing in 25 games with Elite Academy 18U AAA in 2021-22. He was named USHS-CT First Team All-State (Div.1) in 2020-21 and helped ECEL 18U win a championship last season (2021-22.) Bulldogs assistant GM, Adam West, is thrilled to be bringing the young net-minder to Blackfalds next season.

“We are excited to have Charlie join the Bulldogs coming off a solid year at Elite Hockey Academy,” West expressed. “Charlie is a very mobile and technically sound goalie with a high compete level. We were fortunate to see Charlie in person over this past season during a recruit visit up to Blackfalds and I believe having Charlie come up and see our top-in-class facilities, firsthand, was a huge factor in selling this player on Blackfalds as a top developmental junior hockey program.”

The Bulldogs have made a series of roster moves in July, most recently adding Zolin, who expressed his excitement to be coming to Blackfalds next season.

“I am very excited to join the Bulldogs organization and help support them in their quest for the Inter Pipeline Cup,” shared Zolin in a statement.

Zolin played 25 games for Elite Academy 18U AAA posting a 16-7-2 record, with an impressive 1.79 goals-against-average (GAA) in 2021-22.
