Bulldogs Sign Defenseman Jacob Dennis
(Blackfalds, Alta.) – The Blackfalds Bulldogs are pleased to announce the signing of 17-year-old defenseman, Jacob Dennis, out of the Edge School program in Calgary, Alta.
Dennis (‘05) has spent the last three seasons playing for Edge School of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) and finished last season with the U18 Prep team.
The 6-foot-1, 185 pound blue-liner saw his playing time limited last season due to an injury that sidelined him for most of the year, however, his perseverance and work ethic shone through during that challenging time, which ultimately caught the eye of Bulldogs recruiters.
Bulldogs assistant GM, Adam West, expressed his excitement at the depth of character that Dennis is expected to bring to the team, both on the ice and in the locker room.
“Jacob is a strong player who positively affects the game at both ends of the ice. His strong work ethic and skill-level make him an attractive player with high upside,” explained West.
“Over the past season Jacob battled through great adversity facing an injury which forced him to miss significant time,” continued West. “The part of Jacob I like best as a person, is the resiliency he showed in the face of a tough situation. He stepped up and took that time to ensure he came back better and just kept on improving. We’re excited to add that level of character to our locker room”.
The entire Bulldogs organization would like to welcome Jacob and his family to Blackfalds!
