Nikita Meshcheryakov Commits to Maryville University

The Blackfalds Bulldogs are proud to announce the commitment of Nikita Meshcheryakov to play NCAA Division I hockey at Maryville University.

Meshcheryakov joined the Bulldogs partway through the 2025-2026 season in a trade with the Victoria Grizzlies. Meshcheryakov made his debut on October 12th, 2025, vs the Surrey Eagles. He has played in 39 games so far for the Bulldogs this season, recording 9 goals and 25 assists for 34 points.

The 2005-born forward from Moskva, Russia is excited to continue his hockey journey for the Maryville Saints. Meshcheryakov said, “I’m really excited to continue my hockey path at Maryville University. It’s something I have been working toward for a long time, so finally reaching this goal means a lot. I’m grateful for everyone who has helped me along the way, and I am really excited for the opportunity to continue developing both as a player and a person at Maryville.”

That excitement for Meshcheryakov is felt through the Bulldogs organization. Bulldogs President of Hockey Operations, Doug Quinn, said, “The Bulldogs organization was excited to hear of Nikita’s commitment to Maryville. Nikita has been a strong addition to our team. He has developed into a key player providing depth and skill, playing in all situations. The Bulldogs organization is happy for Nikita as he takes the next step into the NCAA next season.”

The praise for Meshcheryakov continued with Bulldogs Head Coach, Ryan Tobler, “We are very pleased to congratulate Nikita Meshcheryakov on his commitment to Maryville University. He has demonstrated consistent leadership and skill at the center position throughout his time with us. Nikita possesses a high hockey IQ, strong puck-handling abilities, and the ability to effectively control the play. It has been a pleasure to coach and work with him, and we wish him continued success in Missouri.”

Al Parada, Bulldogs Director of Player Personnel, added his excitement, “I am extremely happy for Nikita getting this opportunity to play NCAA D1 hockey at Maryville. Nikita was a player we identified last spring playing for the New Jersey Titans, and we were fortunate to get an opportunity to bring him here. Maryville is getting a very good player and even better person. I look forward to seeing what Nikita can do the rest of this season, and in the future as a Maryville Saint.”

Meshcheryakov talks about his experience in Blackfalds so far: “My experience in Blackfalds so far this season has been great. It’s a great environment that helped me to improve my game, reach both athletic and academic goals, and become a better person. There is no other time like that. I am thankful for everything this organization has done for me so far.”

The entire Bulldogs organization would like to congratulate Nikita and his family on his commitment to the Maryville Saints!
