Nikita Ivashchenko Commits to Stonehill College
The Blackfalds Bulldogs are proud to announce the commitment of Nikita Ivashchenko to play NCAA Division I hockey at Stonehill College.
Ivashchenko joined the Bulldogs at the beginning of the 2025-2026 season, making his debut on September 19th, 2025, vs the West Kelowna Warriors. He has played 47 games for the Bulldogs this season, recording 29 goals and 35 assists for 64 points, which leads the Bulldogs in both goals and total points. Ivashchenko came to the Bulldogs from the Battlefords North Stars, where last season he had a standout season in the SJHL and caught the eye of our scouting and management staff.
The 2005-born forward is excited to continue his hockey journey for the Stonehill Skyhawks. Ivashchenko said, “I’m extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to commit to Stonehill. It’s been a long journey to reach this goal, and I’m proud of the work that went into it. I’m thankful to everyone who supported me along the way – especially my family, coaches, my billet families, and the Bulldogs organization for believing in me and helping me make this happen. I am looking forward to the next chapter and ready to give everything I have to the program.”
That excitement for Ivashchenko is felt through the entire Bulldogs organization. Bulldogs President of Hockey Operations, Doug Quinn, said, “Nikita’s growth this year as a player has been truly remarkable. He joined the Bulldogs as a bit of an unknown, but through his work ethic and dedication, it didn’t take long for Nikita to develop into one of the best players in the BCHL. Nikita is a highly skilled player, and we are excited to follow his career as he moves into the NCAA next year.”
Ivashchenko’s elevated play has resulted in Nikita being 2nd in goals with 29 and tied for 2nd in points with 64 heading into this weekend’s BC Hockey League (BCHL) action.
The praise for Ivashchenko continued with Bulldogs Head Coach, Ryan Tobler, “We are extremely happy for Nikita and his commitment to Stonehill College. His high-end skill, blended with an elite work ethic, has made him one of the most dynamic players in the league. I wish him all the very best in the future. It has been a pleasure watching him grow and excel as a player and person.”
Al Parada, Bulldogs Director of Player Personnel, added his enthusiasm, “I am extremely proud of Nikita getting this opportunity to continue his hockey journey and education at Stonehill College. This is well deserved, and was one of Nikita’s goals when we originally started the conversation about him coming to Blackfalds last spring, and once you get to know Nikita’s story, he is just a young man you want to cheer for to achieve those goals.”
Ivashchenko has enjoyed his experience in Blackfalds so far. “My experience in Blackfalds this season has been huge for my development. I’m very grateful for my teammates, coaches, the organization, and my billet family in Blackfalds for their support and making me feel at home.”
Ivashchenko is excited for the rest of the season. “My focus now is finishing the season strong and helping the team win, and making a deep playoff run.”
The entire Bulldogs organization would like to congratulate Nikita and his family on his commitment to the Stonehill Skyhawks!
