Jake McDonald Commits to Bulldogs

The Blackfalds Bulldogs are pleased to announce that 2007-born forward, Jake McDonald, has committed to the team for the 2025-2026 BCHL season.

The Anaheim, California product grew up in the St. Louis Blues AAA program. So far this season with the St. Louis Blues 18U AAA team, he scored 29 goals and 49 points in 41 games. McDonald stands at 5-foot-ten and weighs 165 pounds. His father is former NHLer Andy McDonald, who played in twelve seasons between the Anaheim Ducks and St. Louis Blues.

McDonald stated, “I am really excited about this opportunity to be a Bulldog. They are a first class organization with amazing staff and facilities and I’m looking forward to contributing any way I can.”

Bulldogs’ Director of Player Development, Al Parada, said, “As a group, we’re extremely excited that Jake chose Blackfalds to start his Junior hockey career next year. I have watched Jake a lot over the first half of the year, and he sealed it for myself and our staff with an outstanding performance at Circle K in Calgary this past December. Every game I watched something happened when the puck was on his stick. Not to mention, he was player of the game 5 of the 6 games he played in at the event.”

Parada continued, “Jake is a highly skilled forward with great vision and skating ability. Not to mention, he comes from a pretty good pedigree with his dad being former NHLer Andy McDonald. Jake has the ability to be an impact player as a rookie next year and I can’t wait to see him in a Bulldogs jersey next season.

The entire Bulldogs organization would like to welcome Jake and his family to Blackfalds!
