(Blackfalds, AB) The Blackfalds Bulldogs have acquired 2004-born forward Alexander Dimitriadis from the Pickering Panthers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) in exchange for Future Considerations.

Dimitriadis scored 44 points (19 goals, 25 assists) in 49 regular season games last season, split between the North York Rangers and the Pickering Panthers. A late-season acquisition for Pickering, Dimitriadis posted 15 points in 13 games for the Panthers, leading them into the OJHL playoffs in fourth place in the North/West Conference.

Bulldogs Director of Hockey Operations, Al Parada, says that Dimitriadis has all the tools to be a major contributor to the Bulldogs this coming season.

“The Blackfalds Bulldogs are very excited to have acquired Alexander,” said Parada. “He has elite speed and work ethic and was a top player in the OJHL last season.”

Dimitriadis himself expressed his excitement at joining the Bulldogs.

“I couldn’t be more excited to move to Blackfalds to be a Bulldog for this season. I’ve heard nothing but good things,” said Dimitriadis. “It’s definitely going to be different living away from my family, but I know I’ll feel right at home with the Bulldogs this season.”

Dimitriadis started his junior career at the start of the 2021-22 season with the North York Rangers. Over two OJHL seasons, he scored 31 goals and 68 points over 102 games with North York and Pickering.

“Playing junior hockey in Ontario the past 2 years has been great, but I felt like I needed a change and I’ve heard such great things about the AJHL,” said Dimitriadis. “It will be a good challenge for me and I couldn’t be happier to be playing in Alberta.” Dimitriadis describes himself as a fast, 200-foot centre who is hard on the puck and likes to be physical.

“Alexander is a very good fit with our forward group, adding more team speed and scoring ability,” said Parada, when asked how he thinks Dimitriadis will mesh with the Bulldogs forward core. “I am looking forward to seeing Alexander in a Bulldogs jersey this season.”

The Bulldogs would like to welcome Alexander Dimitriadis and his family to the organization.
