Bulldogs Sign Kael Screpnek
Blackfalds Bulldogs are excited to announce that they have signed 2006-born forward Kael Screpnek for the 2026-2027 season.
Screpnek, 20, who comes to Blackfalds from Calgary, Alberta, played for the Lloydminster Bobcats in the AJHL last season. Screpnek stands six-foot-two and weighs 175 pounds. He played 50 games for the Bobcats last season, where he had 14 goals and 28 assists for a total of 42 points.
Bulldogs Director of Player Personnel, Al Parada, talked about Screpnek being a Bulldog next season, “Kael is a player we have kept an eye on for a few years now. As a centre, he plays a 200′ game and plays with speed and pace. He has good puck skills, is very good defensively, and has really taken a step offensively this past season. Kael will bring experience, physicality, and depth to our group next season, and I am looking forward to seeing him in a Bulldogs jersey in the fall.”
Screpnek talked about why he chose Blackfalds to finish off his Junior career, “At 20 years old, this is an important season for me, and I felt Blackfalds was the best place to finish my junior career. The opportunity with a new team, a strong culture, and a competitive group made this an easy decision. I’m excited to take my game to the next level and to do everything I can to help the team succeed this coming season.”
The Bulldogs would like to welcome Kael and his family to the Bulldogs organization.
