Bulldogs Sign Hampus Vandenberg

The Blackfalds Bulldogs have announced the signing of 2008-born defenceman Hampus Vandenberg for the 2026-2027 season.

Vandenberg, 18, who comes to Blackfalds from Riverside, Connecticut, where he played U18 High School Prep for Brunswick School last season. Vandenberg, who is an NCAA Division I Princeton commit, stands at six-foot-two and weighs 185 pounds. He played in 33 games for Brunswick last season, where he had 3 Goals and 13 Assists for a total of 16 points.

Bulldogs Director of Player Personnel, Al Parada, spoke about Vandenberg coming to Blackfalds, “Hampus is a player who has great skating ability, good size on the back end, and defends very well. He also has a very high hockey IQ and puck skills to break pucks out of our own end, and also the ability offensively to join the rush and create second chances.”

Vandenberg talked about his excitement to come to Blackfalds to start his Junior career, “I’m super excited for the opportunity to join the Bulldogs next season. It is a great organization with amazing facilities, and I look forward to contributing to their continued success. I feel it is an ideal environment for me to develop my game with the great coaches and staff.”

The Bulldogs would like to welcome Hampus and the Vandenberg family to the organization and the Town of Blackfalds.
