Blackfalds, AB – December 21, 2024 – The Blackfalds Bulldogs are excited to announce important updates to the team’s leadership and support staff as we continue to build on the 2024-2025 season.
The Bulldogs are proud to announce Ryan Tobler as the team’s interim head coach for the remainder of the 2024-2025 season. With a wealth of experience and a proven track record in player development and leadership, Tobler brings energy and expertise to the role. The team’s ownership expressed their confidence in this transition, emphasizing their belief in the dynamic partnership between Tobler and Brady Bakke, who will continue to serve as Associate Coach. Bakke’s steadfast commitment to the Bulldogs and his invaluable support will be instrumental in ensuring a seamless transition as Tobler takes the helm.
“We are thrilled to have Ryan stepping in as interim head coach,” said Owner Doug Quinn. “His leadership, combined with Brady’s continued dedication as associate coach, positions us for success this season. We have complete confidence in their ability to lead our team both on and off the ice.”
Additionally, the Bulldogs are excited to announce Megan Deibert as the team’s new Athletic Therapist and Equipment Manager. Megan brings an impressive background in athletic therapy and a lifelong passion for hockey to the Bulldogs organization.
Born and raised in Red Deer, Megan’s journey in athletic therapy began with a diploma in Kinesiology and Sport Studies Fitness from Red Deer College, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a major in Athletic Therapy from the University of Winnipeg. Certified as an Athletic Therapist in 2022, Megan has accumulated invaluable experience, including two seasons as the Athletic Therapist for the Optimist Chiefs (2022-2024) and time spent with the Merritt Centennials in the KIJHL. Her love for hockey was fostered through 13 years of playing ringette and a year of coaching the sport, as well as growing up watching her brothers play hockey in Red Deer.
“Megan’s passion for athletic therapy and for hockey will be a tremendous asset to our team,” said Owner/President of Business, Jodie Quinn. “We’re thrilled to welcome her to the Bulldogs family and look forward to the positive impact she will have on our players.”
With these leadership and staff updates, the Bulldogs are poised to continue their journey of growth and success. Fans can look forward to an exciting remainder of the season, supported by a team that is united and ready to achieve new heights.
